Why do I
teach drums at AGAPE?
I absolutely love
playing the drums and get a kick out of sharing this
excitement with students. To be able to train students
and provide them with skills in music is a great passion
of mine.
Other Instruments played:
I learned the trumpet for about 5 years, I’m currently
trying to pick up skills in piano and guitar, and I
sing.
Formal
music training/qualifications:
6 years of professional drum and percussion training,
earning a Distinction in 4th grade AMEB. I’m
currently completing a 3 year Bachelor Degree of Popular
Music-Performance and Entertainment at
JMC Music Academy
in Surry Hills,
Sydney .
Performing Experience:
I play weekly in the Worship Band at
Camden Uniting Church.
I also play drums with the ROCK/INDIE band “The Still
Bandits”.
Musical
styles, bands, performers preferred:
I enjoy playing a very diverse range of music styles!
Music is FANTASTIC as a whole, and therefore EVERY style
of music has its own ‘niche’. My favourite
performers/bands include Muse, Karnivool, Michael
Jackson, Switchfoot, and many others.
One AGAPE
story:
The students I have taught at AGAPE have picked up very
basic drumming in just the first lesson and this brings
a huge smile to my face and theirs!
